How much do I need?
Bulk materials are ordered by the cubic yard or half yard. One cubic yard of materials will cover 100 square feet about 3 inches deep, which is the amount of coverage we recommend. So of you are applying mulch to an area for the first time, calculating how much you need is easy. If you have 250 square feet, order 2.5 cubic yards, etc. If there is an existing layer of mulch, you will not need to add three inches to it. If you only need one inch, divide the number above by three. If you need an inch and a half, divide it by two. Also, if there are a lot of plants in the existing area, such as in an established perennial garden, you probably need less mulch, so round down. If you are uncertain of how much you need, we are happy to help determine what to order.
